- Magazine subscriptions were renewed on September 30th. Due to budget cuts we have dropped from 35 to 22 subscriptions. A list available is in the front of the library by the book drop if you are interested to see what we have & a list is forthcoming that will be posted on the library website.
- Last week I went to Minneapolis, MN for the 15th American Association of School Librarians conference. Myself and two other librarians held an exploratorium session called "Turning the page on Staff Development @your library." Check us out here: http://turningthepageonstaffdevelopment.wikispaces.com/ This is my 4th conscecutive time to present either an exploratorium or concurrent session at the bi-annual AASL conference.
- Book Fair is scheduled for November 7-11 for students with a teacher preview day all day on Friday, November 4th. Parents, teachers will be creating a classroom wish list that if you like you can purchase a book for their classroom. Our Online Book Fair will open up next Thursday, November 10th and run online through Friday, November the 18th.
- Finally, my mom has made another generous donation to our school library of review books that she has received in the past month. We should expect to have 177 new books (6 boxes) worth ~$3,017.26 added to the library. I sent them to library processing so hopefully they will be entered in and returned soon! I hope that ya'll realize what a wonderful service she is doing for us...my budget for this year is already spent and the above donation is worth about 3/4th of my budget.
